Re: zen space open/receptive

I have to agree with Crystal- Some Zen stories are just plain dumb, typed diarrhea- Upon first reading- Then when a circumstance arises, you're like, oh, that stupid story is useful- At other times, it helps one to recognize something else- Like the story about saying hello to someone for 30+ years...

Re: zen space open/receptive

Sometimes saying little or nothing is saying everything. Very true. I always remember a couple of words from my late Tibetan teacher which were "Say less!" As the past history of this place, ZFI and DharmaWheel proves, sometimes saying all kinds of words is saying not much at all. Yes, better to st...

. In any case, the event is for Joe to cherish and interpret as he will. Yes, well said Jundo. Just as an aside, there seem to be quite a lot of people claiming on the internet to be "enlightened", "awakened" or something similar, They can sometimes be found on YouTube and at other times at the webs...

Like the morning mist that dissolves into thin air, Going nowhere but ceasing to be, Waves of conceptualization, all the mind's creation, dissolve, When you behold your mind's true nature Not bad! It might even "last for weeks and months". :) --Joe .....or even for most of a lifetime! ;) .

Re: 'The ZEN of EVERYTHING! Podcast' with Jundo & Kirk is ON THE AIR!

I am just doubtful that it could be termed "no thought," for you could not function, work your job, pay your taxes, have conversations with loved ones with words. Were you engaged in those social activities during that period? If you did those things, you had a mind and you had thoughts. Yes,I agre...

also still have trouble with your description of there being "no thought" for weeks or months, as I have difficulty to understand any ability to function in life if so. Re: Wonderful, No Place to Go

I neither run toward rebirth, or run away from rebirth, nor have much opinion about rebirth (although I am quite skeptical of most of the more detailed and literal descriptions). In any event, rebirth or no rebirth, what is most important is how we live now, and the choices we make now in act, word...
