Commentary on the Blue Ridge Sutra
It might come
by doing it like Bruce Lee
in street clothes; “come as you are.”
By not begging for change,
but making it happen.
By not making any promises,
yet expecting reciprocation, instant karma.
Not by carrying cards,
or collecting documents, or Master’s scalps.
By living and dying in the moment,
beginning, and ending, just here.
Not by baton passing, diploma
granting, or coronations.
Never mind about all that.
Go forth, find silence and solitude,
simplify, simplify, and again I say, simplify!
By going barefoot if you will,
or even naked if you may,
shaved or unshaven, shorn or unshorn.
By walking back and forth
in the fresh air and sunshine,
off both grid and beaten path.
How can it come at all,
since it is always here?
