Here you go Larry! I was thinking we need a haiku thread, too.
Early temple sit
Mourning Dove calls, stillness and calm
Incense stick burns down.

The overhead moon
Reflects in the water stream
Splash disrupts nothing
It’s not much but you didn’t say it had to be good
Seon practitioner.

Spring snow on the fields.
A lone kite circles an old farmhouse.
Swallowing time and space.

the continuing adventures of the mourning dove...
The dove calls softly
Sitting at the temple at dawn
The world is on fire

very cool!
I've always liked the song but never knew it was a haiku until several years ago. It's been recorded by many of the greats.

Grey skies over the miserly early spring.
A murder of crows is building nests
In the tall leafless trees along the road.

Morning. No mourning dove.
Other birds awake, fill the silence
Cool air, open window

Slowly from sea to hillside
Sun shining brightly

Taking a long road home
Between a green field and one yet to sprout,
I found a bench to rest on.

What is the master?
sitting, wood floor, damp morning
Where does it reside?
