The Second Fruit

Post by Mason » Tue Nov 20, 2018 11:01 pm

As I rode the ox home,
I found my true place.
The bottom drops out,
Past actions float away.
This entire universe is my own radiance.

(yours too)

Perception continues, and is heightened, while ideation may be silent for several months or more, following an awakening.

Yes; and all is silent.

Things moving appear not to be moving.

And!, well, ...those interested will find out when they awaken.

There may be much variation. Meanwhile (and always), see your Teacher, if you have one.

All best,

The dropping off drops off. It is seen that more is needed to be done, higher release is possible.

Ultimate cessation? Only arahants and Buddhas know. What I've seen is mere fish sauce. Ahhh, all these pilgrimages we go on through the years! So many peaks, and thankfully all of them have a way back down to the marketplace - where the real fun is.

Friends,

I am going to report you my experience. You may find it very strange. Everything the Buddha wrote about rebirth, different realms, heavens, formless realms, Gods, Jesuses, Satans, and so forth is now seen to be correct. Jhana heavens wherein the experience is that of total mental suchness without reference to the five senses, a bliss beyond anything this planet offers today, and formless realms so incomprehensible you know of them in name only, all of this stuff is seen to be true.

When I awoke today, the very vastness of space exploded and I saw and effulgent Eye at the center of total space greet me to the new plane of existence I will be working with from now on. This is a very vast universe which goes beyond the tiny attainments being spoken of on this planet today. If you continue to practice without a grounding in the right view of the noble eightfold path, you will experience birth and death over and over and over again, possibly without hope of release for many eons. If you practice with right view, you can attain Total Unbinding in this lifetime.

I know it sounds strange, but it needed to be reported.

Peace

Sounds quite amazing, Mason.

Perhaps you can pull some of that transdimensional magic and breathe life into this little corner of the web, bring fresh people, help make it a vibrant hub for Zen!

A friend of mine told me, "Luminosity cannot be grasped if it is realised and actualised as empty luminosity or insubstantial clarity

Formless Jhanas will be grasped (this is why Buddha left his two formless Jhanas Teachers that didn’t get him liberated) unless it dawns as empty clarity"

So I am no longer so sure I know what I'm talking about. Well, we shall see.

It's embarrassing to bring this thread back up, but I feel the need to say this:

I know it's probably obvious, but my posts in this thread (as well as "yunmen's dried shit stick" and "the true human body - how does it move its arms?" and elsewhere) came from a place of delusion, not awakening. I apologize for being misleading and hope I did not cause any harm.

Thankfully I now feel normal and sane, but I feel compelled to clarify that I am not awakened and these posts of mine were quite delusional.

Your teacher can tell you what's what.

No teacher?

Ok, then you already know (ouch!).

See what Nonin Roshi used to say hereabouts (at ZFI). He was a straight-shooter; now retired as Abbot, and from teaching (I think). But, still teaching us... .

What else is the company of cats for, "dead or alive" (the dead one refers to an experience - see spoiler pic quote- precisely a year after my cat died, the alive one's refer to her two daughters) Don't underestimate the power of a Cat Sangha, just report any experience to them and see how they respond :cat:
