I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Emily Dickinson, 1830 - 1886

I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

Mason asks Enver, what is Buddha?

(They didn't have cars back in the day, so there were lots of sweating horses for the pilgrimage).
"The Way needs no cultivation, just do not defile. What is defilement? When with a mind of birth and death one acts in a contrived way, then everything is a defilement. If one wants to know the Way directly: Ordinary Mind is the Way!"

Not my lyrics mate, though if it hurts the "overal" message to whom it may ironically apply as an "individual" well. there's room for poetry, laughter or anything there too, if you wish to take a shine (dearly bewhoved)

Did Buddha teach that there is a spirit?
I thought once a person passes away that there is no spirit, no soul.

The conscious person is made up from the five aggregates or five Skandhas
The five are .. the body, feelings, perceptions, mental activity, consciousness
These things create the mind or ego or personality
When the body is gone, there is no place for feelings, perceptions, mental activity or consciousness to reside
No spirit, no soul. :103:

Correct, yet what the Buddha taught was of expedient service, soul or no-soul self- or no self are both no truths in/by itself, both can be used as expedient means (to whom it may apply) people usually dont like to hear it but none of the Buddha's words were "truth" of themselves, it merely has expedient medicinal value, so be careful to apply the medicine of no-self-no soul etc it can enhance delusion as much as the notion of "self" in fact it often enhances the virus. permanence/impermance self/no-self, duality/non-duality these are ALL false ideas, but can serve as medicine where applicable. Be careful to prescribe, sometimes the medicine is the sickness.

I get it. Bigger picture.
It was used to settle the questioning mind and let the mind of the disciple move forward or not move at all ... lol

Funny enough, some day(s) I ascend without moving,
When the sixth patriarch came upon some monks, the monks were talking about a flag moving in the wind
Or was the wind moving the flag. The flag moving and then the wind.
He said that neither the wind nor flag was moving
That it was the mind that was moving which caused the flag and wind to move.

Yeah, back to chewing on MU.

Completely false! Liar! yet for the time being the right expedient/medicine for those particular monks

I've had and still have my share of falsehoods, which is right medicine, happy prescribing/practising!
