There was a chemical being used in agriculture that altered the sex of frogs!
This is all getting a bit too close to home

Yeah got that "synchrothingytie" vibe here too (combined with 'meetings' with other current 'drugs' and sexworkers reference in another thread) ...a single "thought" manifesting the 3000 worlds eh?

So I got blocked by a zen teacher on facebook who posted a picture of him working on his latest zen-book on his laptop in a favourite restaurant.

I posted a sarcastic comment "seems like such a compassionate place" with a picture of the diner menu (dead animals) not saying my comment was "skillfull" (whatever that may mean) perse but am I that annoying or is it just not popular enough for Buddhist teachers to care about? I mean a hundred something what years ago it wasn't popular to mention slavery (ppl of colour) nor was it societies standard that woman were allowed to vote...not saying everyone should share "my views" but just completely cutting any conversation of...I mean Buddhism?

Apart from writing "zen books" only "hot" topics some teachers are willing to discuss like "racism" as "covid" is getting old already, I think "me too" also isn't popular anymore...so Buddhism is just another media puppet, or whatever topic fits one's market strategy?

Speaking of slavery....

Ragged and bare-footed, you approach the market and the streets.

Even covered in dust, why would the laughter cease?

The bees and buttterflies are happy because flowers have bloomed on a withered tree.

Don't hit yourself with the same stick someone else just hit you with- :114:

If you did something wrong, admit it- Guilt is a multi-faceted gem- Shame is a single edged sword, with a single function: to cut- Be it into meat or another's psyche-

Even when facts are meticulously presented, defensiveness will occur:

A problem with animal activist's presentation is that it's exclusive, much like white privilege country clubs- Or southern churches that worship snakes- When truth be told, agricultural practices as a whole need to change, for the well-being of the entire planet and all of its inhabitants-

Teresa I haven't perceived me doing something wrong but if I did any person in question I hope they will tell me, but mostly ppl keep silent and build walls.

I agree with the presentation, I don't follow or associate with animal right's activists due to the group-identity and polarized way of thinking/conduct, always have been a lone wolf whether in "Buddhism" or "whateverism" not a group person at all and not born to follow. Yet I talk with individuals both "buddhist" and "veganists" but they're both blind and stinky in their own ways....

I'm mostly interested in the discussion (on this forum) in how or why Buddhists aren't a bit more active or open on these matters...again for me racism, sexism, animal rights thingies are not different, just talk about this more since it doesnt get a lot of attention, its mostly talking "trump" "brexit" or whatever's popular.

I think Buddhists and especially teachers/sanghas could be less selective in their "wisdom/compassion" thingies instead of the usual human identity fetishes

Lazlo Hollyfeld : Well, how'd you do?

Chris Knight : How'd I do? I passed! But I failed! Yeah!

Lazlo Hollyfeld : Well, then I'm happy and sad for you.

Both are very important and emergent issues that we need to deal with at the same time, not just one or the other.
