Time swiftly passes by

Post by Larry » Tue Mar 13, 2018 6:15 pm

I've just visited my closest Advaita friend in hospital. He's been diagnosed with a serious brain tumour. A team of a dozen experts will discuss a plan of action tomorrow. He's losing speech & writing capability but still has the same sense of humour. And, for whatever reason, he's been thrown into a much more open state of presence & awareness than he's ever had before.

My biggest lesson, personally, is don't take friends & relatives for granted. And I'm very grateful for Britain's National Health Service.

May your friend bask in the Light of Unconditional Love.

Here's a beach party for him.

I hope all of you involved manage to work through it with grace. I imagine it is not easy in such a situation.

Yes, taking things for granted is a great shame. We all think we have time.

I hope your friend makes a full recovery, Larry. Much love to him and to you.

My son and I do special chanting on Wednesday evenings before practice and I if you gave me his name (first name and last initial is fine), I would be honored to add his name to the side altar and do some chanting for him.

Tough to see people we care about like this. For me, at least. Also a reminder that we are all on borrowed time here. Not to take anything for granted - friends, loved ones and our own physical well-being.

All the Best to your friend, Larry.

Thanks Linda :111:

They now say the tumour is the size of a golf ball & they will operate on Tuesday morning. You're so right about "precious times". He wrote, this morning, "This trip is so crazy, amazing and profound it wouldn't surprise if the operation isn't actually necessary. Some adventure eh! Hope you're not jealous :D "

Andy has just written "All appears good for tomorrow; hopefully the evidently voraciously materialist neurosurgeon Mr. pronounced Jellyneck (!) will find some good sport and enjoy himself."
