How is this thread in Beginner's Space? I just wonder what the folks who come to this forum and look in the Beginner's Space to see what Zen is about and chance upon this would think..

Point taken.
“Enlightenment means to see what harm you are involved in and to renounce it.” David Brazier, The New Buddhism

“The most straightforward advice on awakening enlightened mind is this: practice not causing harm to anyone—yourself or others—and every day, do what you can to be helpful.” Pema Chodron, “What to Do When the Going Gets Rough”

Well, they might think Joe must be a funny person, then go look up his comments. Joe has a ton of comments on this forum and is therefore very representative of tone and content in general.

Where would you move it, Zen People?

Lounge is a good place for this thread.
ps Joe already said he's just humouring us, so whoever thinks of Joe as a thought-object, something "funny" something "wise" something "opposite" of (this or) that - his reply should be sufficient as a "turning word"

I understand Joe, luckily I'm not a "Buddhist . . ."
It must have been an echo

You literalist!
Concepts (knowledge) are only functional in reference to things or "the objective world".
Do you really think I walk around thinking "I am a buddhist" or "I am not a Buddhist"
Those quoted words where only in reference to a specific situation/circumstance etc i.e. my conversation with Joe, those words have no meaning now, so any quote in the past is oblivious, and whatever point anyone tries to make by digging up old words is too.
But make of it what you want!

I could give you my word if you think something's lacking.

What word do you need which could satisfy?

I actually didn't intend to post this in Beginner's Space; I was just being heedless (headless?). Sorry about that. I hope no one is confusing my idiotic rambling with actual Dharma.
"The Way needs no cultivation, just do not defile. What is defilement? When with a mind of birth and death one acts in a contrived way, then everything is a defilement. If one wants to know the Way directly: Ordinary Mind is the Way!"

No, but you never know what dharma might come out of it...

Fuki,

Did Pandit Nisargadatta Maharaj really say "The Love between the two"?

Oh, I see, "the GLOVES between the two"! Typo? :)

I only care what about we are "together" Joe.
Though it may express through various 'individual' forms and behaviour and produce something good. :111:
