If I may ask, do you remember what book that was? Just curious. My first book was a college textbook.
The compass of zen by Seung Sahn, I was around 18, perfect book at the perfect time for me.

Oh no, once things are "on" I'm a beast (depending on what level of beast mode the girl in question is up for) ;)

Haha, I'm sure you're a regular James Bond in bed, but no that's not what I was talking about anymore. I was talking about living without pre-meditation, utterly surrendered to nature to function for you, letting go of intention and becoming simply water. Wu-wei, non-meditation, no-mind-in-action.

Whether or not that is your Way, this conversation reminded me of that paradigm for practice. I'm excited to revisit it.

How a propos that real practice issues get discussed in the thread called "Off-topic." We are all a bit gooey on this forum.
"The Way needs no cultivation, just do not defile. What is defilement? When with a mind of birth and death one acts in a contrived way, then everything is a defilement. If one wants to know the Way directly: Ordinary Mind is the Way!"

Yes, ofcourse! "non-dwelling" is bliss, hey in all forums ever the "lounge" talk is where the true magic/play happens, nothing to do and nothing left undone, just dancing. :hatsoff:

Did I mention? It's not just our brain that's full of neurons, and their connections.

I understand that the human gut has as many neurons as ...the brain of a cat.

"NICE kitty"!

For people missing Meido, in addition to Dharma Wheel, he often posts on the "Zen Dialogue" Facebook forum. And for people missing Jundo, apart from Treeleaf, he posts daily on the "Soto Zen Buddhism" Facebook forum.

Sorry for any upset caused by mention of Jundo :D
Even better news....I hardly ever post on either

Setsudo said about this: "Bokki is not, as most people believe, the colour of the ink, and does not depend on the quality of the brush, ink, and paper. If one's ki is not extended into the work, the bokki is dead." The clarity of the bokki is not seen with the eyes, it is sensed with the hara, the physical and spiritual centre of one's body. Bokki reveals the calligrapher's inner light.

So in other words he's all over the lounge

Also from the Philippines ...
“Off the people, buy the people, poor the people.”
Popular around the time that the Marcos dictatorship was being displaced, if I remember well.
