Would love to see your instrument one day Joe if you'd happen to have a picture of it.

On the downside....2000 years of pompous rewrites :D
Ever noticed the "originals" never wrote down a word, a few hundred years later magically a "religion" and a "savior" pops up, good business :hatsoff:

So God has a name! But it's not very transgender friendly (sorry forgot the proper term)

Let's fix it and just call God Knarf!

experienced "ghost hearing" ever since a wee little kid, really nothing you want to cultivate unless you're looking for a career in Satanism

It does and so much more . . . oh and never tell your family about any "distant hearing" they'll take you to the doc, a mistake I learned from early
Good that you can laugh about it now. As a child, which of course you are not anymore, such an experience (either one) can be stigmatizing or even traumatizing, etc. Your family perhaps hoped it might be a help to seek an evaluation regarding auditory hallucinations, rather than accepting you experienced them as real (and still do, I believe).

I laughed at it back then too, what you say is right though it took me 20-30 years to discover it

Their decision was hammerfisted and definitely had the result I couldn't trust my parents anymore nor had any safety (besides all the abuse of growing up with alcoholics) it was a learning experience though as everything :)

There is lots to learn from the world religions, if one is open to it. Babies and bathwater, and all..
Agreed, Keith. Thank you.

A professor of mine at Columbia used to say, "Unfortunately, Religion requires Imagination."

...the ultimate putdown of, and challenge to, unimaginative naysayers! ;)

He was Prof. Theodor Herzl Gaster (the 13th son of the Chief Rabbi of the English Sephardic Community). Polyglot, he knew 32 languages, including all the languages of the Bible and its environs.

He was a card. I studied with him in about 1973-4, in the area of Religious Language. He passed away 1992 (1906-1992). R.I.P.

No. At school during recess we played 'flip cards' instead of marbles. You could buy a pack of Topps baseball cards at a hobby store containing ten or so random cards and a flat slab of (often stale) bubblegum. If lucky you'd get a player's rookie card, or a Whitey Ford, Roger Maris, Mickey Mantle, etc., although such cards were rare. We'd stand in a circle and try to expertly flip cards at the target cards in the middle. If your card fluttered down on one or several others, you'd announce "Touchies!" The next player would have one chance to flip on the touched cards. Failing that, the touched cards were yours. Otherwise the pile would grow as succeeding cards hit until there was a miss.

I played in an adult mainly black softball league. After doubleheaders some players shot craps, and I would watch for a little while, wary of arguments. There were also bets on games, which brought pressure and sometimes problems. The guy who ran the County concession was a brother of our coach, Buddy Gee (team: BG Reds), so we all got free food.

Yes, I've played. Those were the most happiest days.I've unforgettable memories.Even if you are a child and it is a game but still it includes hints or prints from your future life or destiny.
