Just a test: the site claims that the quota for ATTACHMENTS is exceeded, or reached.

Let's see if a reference in a YouTube wrapper can be added, despite that.

This will tell us whether or not the site software (or hosting service?) experiences such an addition as an Attachment, or as some other kind of hitch-hiker, instead.

We were talking about Neil Young and his "Heart of Gold" track: Here's (I hope; we'll see!) a track of Crosby, Stills, Nash, AND Young, which I've always admired.

It's Steven Stills' (guitar-) playing that most moves me, followed in a close second, or no second at all, by the singing of the great lyrics. Sad topic, tho', which I know well from life in real-time, at the time.

(I hope this will be audible; will the site allow it, just now?) Testing, testing... . ;) --Joe

Ohio

by: Crosby, Stills & Nash

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'
We're finally on our own
This summer I hear the drummin'
Four dead in Ohio
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?
Na na-na-na, na-na na-na
Na na-na-na, na-na na
Na na-na-na, na-na na-na
Na na-na-na, na-na na
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are cutting us down
Should have been done long ago
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?
Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'
We're finally on our own
This summer I hear the drummin'
Four dead in Ohio
Four dead in Ohio (Four dead)
Four dead in Ohio (Four)
Four dead in Ohio (How many?)
Four dead in Ohio (How many more?)
Four dead in Ohio (Why?)
Four dead in Ohio (Oh!)
Four dead in Ohio (Four)
Four dead in Ohio (Why?)
Four dead in Ohio (Why?)

"Carry on" is a pretty good theme, I'd say.

March 11, 1970 release, on their "Deja Vu" LP. Crosby, Stills & Nash, and their first as a quartet with Neil Young.

Carry On

by: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

One morning I woke up and I knew
You were really gone
A new day, a new way, and new eyes
To see the dawn.

Go your way, I'll go mine and
Carry on

The sky is clearing and the night
Has cried enough
The sun, he come, the world
To soften up

Rejoice, rejoice, we have no choice but
To carry on

The fortunes of fables are able
To see the dawn

Now witness the quickness with which
We get along

To sing the blues you've got to live the tunes and
Carry on

Carry on...
Love is coming
Love is coming to us all

Where are you going now my love?
Where will you be tomorrow?
Will you bring me happiness?
Will you bring me sorrow?

Oh, the questions of a thousand dreams
What you do and what you see
Lover can you talk to me?

Girl when I was on my own
Chasing you down
What was it made you run?
Trying your best just to get around.

The questions of a thousand dreams
What you do and what you see
Lover can you talk to me?

My friends Mazzy Star again. Some oh-so-nice steel-guitar playing, here, by Jason Roback. Hope Sandoval with her lyrics.

Lay Myself Down

by: Mazzy Star

Just like that, she follows me
My wings are under her tree
She says one thing and that's just enough
It doesn't matter how much

Would I forget
Laying myself down
Just to regret
And that's all
Would I forget

I'll go away
I'll never know how far, how long
She keeps a diamond inside her door
She don't have a clue

Would I forget
Laying myself down
Just to regret
And that's all

Would I forget
Laying myself down
Just to regret
And that's all

And that's all
And that's all

You who are on the road
Must have a code that you can live by
And so become yourself
Because the past is just a good-bye.
Teach your children well,
Their father's hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picks, the one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you.
And you, of tender years,
Can't know the fears that your elders grew by,
And so please help them with your youth,
They seek the truth before they can die.
Teach your parents well,
Their children's hell will slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picks, the one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.

Since I'm not posting, or won't post, on our substantive topics for another week or so, I thought I'd drop this bit of music, which I've posted before at ZFI when ZFI was online.

This is Mazzy Star, with their track "Roseblood".

Some have said that upon hearing Hope Sandoval's voice, they now believe that there *IS* a God.

(some have said the same about seeing the Victoria's Secret lingerie model Laetitia Casta, who's since gone into film acting, I've heard).

I'll put a YouTube-wrapper around this track of Hope Sandoval's and David Roback's, of Mazzy Star, released Oct 29, 1996:

Roseblood

by: Mazzy Star

Everyday you can see
Changes in her hair and smile
I can wait a million days
While her smile goes away

Sometimes I feel deceived
By the slices in her hand
Secrets in her lipstick mouth
Shining on again
Shining on again

Capture a smile and then that's all
You won't know her so it's ok
Funny how things change
Funny how things change

Songwriters: Hope Sandoval / David Roback

they now believe that there *IS* a God.
Maybe there is a God, but he's up there in Heaven.
Personally, I consider myself to be the person in this world.
