The elevator weighs seven pounds. It's not heavy enough to reach the bottom. Relativity speaking, it's the floors that change - the elevator is completely still.
you mean 7 hundred pounds?..and still more.
is it light enough to float?

ok, how about the rider? is he still?

Do you remember the last samurai movie.

There is a poem starts with the lines:
"The tiger's eyes are like my own. But he comes from across a deep and troubled sea.
Today i understand that it can not be completed.

I don't think so. If the three pillars are teaching, practice, and enlightenment, it is a mistake to think this order is reversible, imo. Thus the need to engage with a teacher ASAP.

What practice would that be?

Is it a practice you yourself are doing now? (Or maybe tomorrow? :P )

P.S. I'm pretty sure your practice of Following White is not going to catch on here!

Not at all. My questions were plainly about practice. Simple answer: could be "daily zazen", "following white", or even "none". You didn't answer, and you certainly shouldn't feel you are required to.

That is a very sickening thing to say about anyone else, or yourself.

I don't see any point in continuing here.

"Zen" is a Japanese word that is a contraction. In Sanskrit, fully, this word is "Dhyana" and in Pali "jhana" but the Tathaghata spoke neither of these languages, only his own local Prakrit dialect. We still get the gist of it. Yeah, there's the Flower Sermon, but there's also Bodhidharma sitting 9 years in front of the Shaolin Temple Wall, and the latter case it's closer to us than the former. Last week a Buddhist told me the reason why Buddha came was to preach that we just go about our ordinary lives, and continue to live as we already do. Maybe "his Buddha" preached that to him, but it's not at all the example of every patriarch in our lineage down to the current day. If you want to know what Zen is, there is no need to hurry. It might be a long, draw-out, laborious process. At the pace we are going, we may never truly know. The question is at once utterly relevant in the most profound way, and utterly ridiculous due to the insurmountable odds against it. Maybe either you can die laughing, or not, the choice is yours. <two cents worth>
