World peace lies in "Sīla, samādhi, paññā (Virtue, concentration, wisdom). So maybe you are correct about U.K. - Iran but without virtue it is hopeless. Nation states are completely tangled up in lies and lying.

Please elaborate. I have no clue what you are talking about.
Similarly, what influence, in your view, do the relations of the UK and Iran have on world peace?
You have referred to “peace” several times recently in this and other threads.
What is peace, what are the characteristics of peace, why is it important to you?
I look forward to your well considered reply.

Iran and the UK are bit players in world peace. The major players are China, Russia and the USA, all three currently authoritarian and anti-democratic, with North Korea a wild card.

Talk of devilishness and magic (e.g., enso as a magical word) in zen is totally misplaced, imo.

In the "Each One Helps" thread, Clyde lists three categories of the membership here, as he sees it: Zen students (who study and practice zen with a teacher), Students of zen (study and practice the Dharma without a teacher), and the curious about zen. Although seemingly listed in a hierarchy, these are just different categories. A good perspective, at least for me, to try to keep in mind.

yes, I know some about the cards.
as i've told before there are 4 aces in the cards.
"existence/peace
void
emptiness (I don't know) "
each coincide a nation.
and each says I am the ace.yes both are true.
but they forget something that there are 4 aces.
that's why i love bodhidharma.cause he is the one most embrace the all.
ah, may be we are talking the same thing.
Talk of devilishness and magic (e.g., enso as a magical word) in zen is totally misplaced, imo.
i didn't say enso as a magical word.
i said it is so for me.
as maybe that's why the final point i came in my practice as i'm about to begin the practice.nevermind.

Good point here.
All I need is the practice.
&/by give up the (mind) games and polemic.

I'll give you a clue.
Peace with Bodhidharma is equal to Mahakasyapa.i've seen this before.so not thought on as you have called for a well considered reply.

About the UK - Iran & world peace
it was a momentary view.
you know you don't think much about the front or back.that issue.
hope here it opens new mind doors or vision.

I believe this question was offered in good faith, so please see how offering only a *clue* may be considered condescending or evasive.

This is a fair answer, acknowledging you really hadn't thought about it:

Except, of course, that [james] and others here might indeed try to do just that, i.e., think carefully about it, and then want to discuss it.

I don't think your statement is at all likely to open "mind doors or vision". To me, it just seems pointless.

Too much negativity. My advice is put a mirror right in front of you and learn to look positive to things.

Sounds like everyday time wasting ... “killing time”.
So. Bodhidharma’s peace ... what is that?

exactly killing time.in my words playing game.
now i have to take a decision and stop playing game.practice is the only way.

about the second part, Bodhidharma's peace...
Any meaning shows that you are using your mind.®
I don't want meaning.
By looking for a meaning you can't take a way.
(snake also tell this)
ox is mind.

If don't know
Peace with him is equal to mahakasyapa.

What is holding you back? You have been saying this for months, quite possibly years. And yet here you are, still playing games.
about the second part,
More blah, blah, blah ...
Talk is cheap.
Practice is dear.

Are you alone, in the bog? If so it’s nothing to be sorry about. All the more reason to get real.
Or, maybe “alone in the bog” is more game playing ...

Abiding nowhere, let the mind come forth
(Diamond Sutra)

hum, wondering if this came up when the UK seized the Iranian oil tanker? I don't remember the timing.... let us not forget, the UK is a vassal of the US these days.

Let us indeed forget it as it is not the case. But there I am, abiding again!
